Basic Info
Name:Kagurazaka Asuna
Birthdate:1988-04-21
Location:Japan
Bio
[IC Information]
Character Name: Kagurazaka Asuna
Series: Mahou Sensei Negima!
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Species: Human
Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: Asuna is about 5'4" with a slender but athletic build. Her hair is orange and she almost always wears it in two pigtails tied with a red ribbon with two bells on each one. She has heterochromia, which means her eyes are two different colors; her left eye is blue, and her right eye is green. Generally Asuna wears her school uniform: a pleated, maroon and orange plaid skirt, a white button down shirt with a maroon vest over it, a maroon jacket, and light blue necktie, and black shoes and knee socks.

Personality: Always upbeat, Asuna is almost never melancholy. She has a tendency to get angry very quickly, acting before she thinks things through. Violent and short-tempered, Asuna is known by even girls in the high school for her ability to fight. She constantly fights with Yukihiro Ayaka, her class president, and has since the two first met. However, she has a strong sense of right and wrong, and will not hesitate to fight for what she thinks is right. She will do almost anything for her friends (especially Negi, Konoka, and Setsuna), even putting herself in danger. Asuna also takes time to save Negi from the over-amorous attention (and perversion, in her opinion) of her classmates. Despite her close relationship with her teacher, Asuna isn't the best of students, and is Baka Red of the Baka Rangers (the bottom five students of her class), despite her protests. She also had an immense crush on her former homeroom teacher, Takahata Takamichi., and somewhat of a fetish for older men. Despite that, there have been many instances of moments between her and Negi that point to a less than platonic relationship.

Abilities: Asuna has three abilities. Her first ability is her own innate magic-cancelling. She is immune to magic of all sorts (except illusions), but shows some weaknesses to internal magic, such as the love candy she inadvertently eats.

Secondly, as Asuna's memories from her past emerge, she relearns to use the power of kankaho, which combines the use of ki and magical energies to fight. It has many uses and variations, and very few people in the world are capable of using it.

Finally, her most used power is that of her Pactio she formed with Negi. Using her card and the word "Adeat", she can call out her weapon. At first, it was merely a harisen with powers to banish demons that was unable to deal damage to non-magical foes such as robots. In response to emotional situations (such as Negi in trouble), she was able to form a sword longer than she is tall which she handles with no trouble at all. As she gains more control over her powers, the sword appears in place of the harisen almost always.

In Manhattan, Asuna cannot use her Pactio abilities at all, her kankaho is extremely limited and cannot be used for more than 20 seconds, and her magic-cancelling ability is weakened to the point where it can only deflect the most basic of magics.

Weaknesses: Asuna has no real physical weaknesses, but as she isn't the brightest girl, she sometimes has trouble strategizing and tends to plunge into a fight swinging away. Her anger is also an issue, and she is easily provoked into a wild attack. She also tends to put herself in danger when she tries to protect her friends, especially Negi. Like with Ayaka, Asuna holds grudges to an extreme against anyone who hurts her or her friends. Finally, Asuna has a tendency to get angry with Negi when he pushes himself too hard, such as when he turns to Dark Magic as a means to defeat Fate, and beat herself up for not protecting him fully.

Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider

History: Asuna is a third year junior high school student who was orphaned from a young age. She was taken in by the family of her best friend, Konoe Konoka, and attends Mahora Academy for free, but still runs a paper route to try to pay her own way. She has very few memories of her past before she was taken in by the Konoe family. Unknown to her, she is actually Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia, the Twilight Imperial Princess of the Magical World. She traveled with Negi's father, Nagi, during his tenure with the Crimson Wings before his disappearance, and with the remaining members for a time after.

When Negi arrives at her school, she initially despises him because he replaces her favorite teacher and secret crush, Takahata-sensei. After seeing him save a classmate with magic and a battle with Evangeline, Mahora's resident vampire student, she becomes Negi's first partner, forming a pactio with him and sealing it with their first kisses. Through adventures in Kyoto and on the campus during the school festival, Asuna continued to fight by Negi's side as he forms more contracts with her classmates. She is drawn further into the magical world by the arrival of Albireo Imma, a member of the Crimson Wings, who causes her to begin to regain her memories of her travels in the Magical World. Upon seeing Takamichi use kankaho, Asuna's memories are further disturbed and she rediscovers her abilities to use kankaho, although she doesn't remember where she initially learned it.

After the events of the Mahora Festival, those students aware of the existence of magic form the White Wings, a group to find Negi's father Nagi in the Magical World. They create pins with white wings on them, and head to the gateway to the Magical World, unaware that several classmates without magical knowledge or contracts with Negi are following along behind them. Passing through the gateway, their magical items are sealed into a box, unusable until they pass through what almost seems like a customs department and into the magical world. Fate Avernucus and his group show up and Negi's team fights them. Even after Asuna breaks open the sealed box to give the group their weapons, Fate manages to destroy the gateway, causing the group to be scattered across the magical world. There, Asuna meets up with Setsuna, and the two of them come across Kaede and Konoka. Soon they operate as a team of mercenaries who take on jobs such as defeating dragons and other magical creatures.

The four girls eventually make their way to Ostia, the capital city, to meet up with Negi and their gathered classmates. Asuna follows a strange vision of Nagi to a balcony overlooking the city where Negi is daydreaming. As she approaches the illusion of Nagi, there is a huge flash of light, and Asuna closes her eyes, nearly blinded... When she opens them, she is standing atop of a half-crumbled skyscraper, arm outstretched into the dim daylight.
